While this might be the goal of other youth sports organizations, no one else does it like we do. At The League Utah, officially sanctioned by Utah Basketball Association, we believe that in additional to team practices and tournaments, we must provide excellent skills and coaches training. We have the experience and knowledge to guide and train both players and coaches. We have seen what is lacking in youth basketball today and we are determined to show players a better way. We are offering competitive and developmental Club Teams as well as leagues to fit your player’s/team’s skill-sets - Developmental League (Beginner), our Breakout League (Intermediate - Lower-Level Club/BYO Teams), and our Evolution League (Comp/Elite).
What makes us different from other basketball teams and groups in Utah is the level of organization and structure we provide players, coaches, and parents. We are committed to building one system of progression for basketball in Utah. What that means is no matter where your player is at with basketball, we will have a place for him/her and we will work together with you, your player, and his/her coaches/trainers to build them up.
pre club academy
Our Pre-Club Academy (PCA) was founded to create a bridge between our recreational Developmental League and our club teams. It is a crucial step on our player development pathway. With player development and progression in mind, PCA invites talented players from local leagues, as well as the standout performers from our Developmental League, to work with coaches to cultivate their basketball skills and techniques.
PCA is a program that offers organized basketball for players aged 8 through 13 who want to play at a more competitive level, but need more training and development to get to the competitive arena. It also serves as a fantastic platform for the players that want to push themselves and eventually be part of the club basketball world. It lays the foundations for all players to move up their basketball ladder.
club teams
The objective of the UBA Club Program is to provide a highly competitive environment for the elite player looking to maximize their potential and prepare for collegiate and professional opportunities. Under our age appropriate curriculum, members of our Club Program will thrive in a demanding environment and enjoy the rewards of a deep commitment to playing the game at the highest level. Our Club Teams will compete in tournaments in Utah and surrounding states throughout the year.
Our emphasis is on identifying players who wish to be student athletes and understand the importance of high academics in helping find future sports opportunities. It is our goal to continue to develop our future players to allow them all to reach their potential and get the most out of their love for basketball.
DEVELOPMENTAL LEAGUE
We are proud to offer the best skills training in the state. Simply joining a recreational league is not enough. At The League Utah, we are determined to help players develop individual and game skills. We are the only league in Utah that offers additional skills and game training run by professional trainers. Teams get weekly team practices with their coach at our facility at the Karl Malone Training Center as well as additional skills clinics with our trainers. Our goal is to help players develop a complete game and maximize their potential.

We offer skils clinics throughout the season in addition to team practices so players receive the full spectrum of player development.

We understand the importance of winning and we value player development just as much. Our games are structured to be both competitive and promote player development in game.

BASKETBALL PROGRESSION IN UTAH
The current youth basketball system in Utah is confusing and political. If you are not “in” with the right coaches, team, or neighbors, you will not be able to accomplish your highest goals for this sport. We want to help organize that system so that all have an equal shot to play for the best teams in Utah.
Our goal is to create the best possible basketball experience for our players, their families and our local communities in Utah. The League places the highest value on individual player development. Our periodized season plans and playing concepts model deliver age-appropriate training programs for our players to develop technical mastery, game understanding and the ability to meet the physical demands of basketball.
We work with our players to provide them with opportunities to develop in line with the professional standards and requirements of a professional basketball organization, along with clear pathways to the highest levels of basketball.
